Recipes and Technical Skills

A list of technical skills that will be developed in KS3 and Ks4 in Food Preparation and nutrition. The recipes show over each academic year, the skills that will be demonstrated and reviewed in each practical lesson.

Technical Skills

Rotary Young Chef 2018

Year 10 students competed against each other to produce a 3 course meal, for two people. Students planned their menu, completed their costings, organised a time plan in order to support their competition. Students had to present and display their dishes to three judges. Two students then went onto the next round at Camborne College to compete against other schools.

Penwith Catering Workshops

Andy Carr from Penwith supported the Year 10 Food preparation and nutrition GCSE students with understanding and developing techniques on presentation of food. Students demonstrated their skills on how to display and present a ‘Mackerel Salad’ and also a ‘Summer Fruits and Cream, Pavlova’.
