We are very proud of our excellent standards, high expectations and outstanding outcomes. This has been consistently supported by Ofsted judgments and outstanding GCSE results.

It is no surprise that a large number of our past students enter Art and D&T courses at University level.

The faculty appreciates the skills that our students hold, and are very proactive in entering competition and events out of school. The aim being, to build students confidence, and to understand the global nature of design opportunities and employment.

Examples of these activities include:  the Green-car challenge, Penwith Gallery exhibition, print-IT Fair Trade competition, Falmouth design ED exhibition, Dulux design Challenge, Tesco bread completion, corrugated packaging compaction, eco-designer challenge, EARS project, Jubilee time capsule. Please look these up on the internet and St Ives School often features. St Ives School has excelled in these areas, and has a National recognized reputation!

This year the Government’s Construction Adviser launched an ‘Adopt a School’ campaign. The idea is for construction related companies to ‘buddy up’ with their local schools to promote career opportunity in the construction industry. We have been adopted by BBBPC architects firm. This will open a host of interesting links and opportunities aimed at both university and apprenticeship pathways into construction.

Each year we excel in the awards, this year being no different….. we won the Textiles and the Graphic Products award.
